Robert Bailey is an Artist Fellow with the American Society of Aviation Artists and a member of the Canadian Society of Aviation Artists. He was born and raised in Staffordshire, England and attended Longton College of Art.
As a child, Roberts imagination was fired by an Uncle, himself an artist, who painted pictures from his experiences as a sailor in the Royal Navy on the Murmansk convoys to Russia. Robert has always been fascinated by aviation, but the closest he got to flying himself was when he started a skydiving club at the newspaper where he worked during the 80s. Strangely, he could persuade only women to join, totaling about eight or ten. He has fifty skydives to his credit, mostly from above ten thousand feet.
Robert Bailey owns an extensive collection of uniforms and airplane models, which he uses as reference when creating a project. Roberts wife Michelle assists with the ever-expanding business and is most supportive of his striving to make that next painting the "best one yet". He produces an average of three or four new limited edition print projects every year. Original paintings are much sought-after, as he only paints for the next print production.
.
- Robert Baileys prints and originals are sold worldwide, including the U.S.A., Australia, Canada, Great Britain and Germany.
